The Conewago Township Planning Commission held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, July 29, 2002. Those present were:

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Whitmeyer at 7:40 P.M.
The Agenda items were reviewed. Added to the Agenda was Robert Ebersole
MINUTES - June 24, 2002 - A motion by Czuday second by Rozanski to accept the June 24, 2002 minutes as submitted. Motion carried.

CHRIST S BEILER - Land Development Waiver - Ag Zoning, 4356 Colebrook Road, Hershey, Pa.
Mr. Beiler is requesting a Land Development Waiver to build a dairy barn attached to the existing barn, and also to include a attached milk house, diesel room, a silo, bunk feeder and manure pit on his 94 acres. The building will be over 800 sq. ft. therefore needs a waiver of Land Development Plan. A motion by Whitmeyer second by Kuntz to recommend the waiver contingent upon the Township Engineer's comments concerning Stormwater Management. Vote all yes.
ROBERT EBERSOLE - Land Development Waiver - 2429 Church Road, Hummelstown, Pa.
Mr. Ebersole is requesting a Land Development Plan Waiver to build a 1470 sq ft addition to his house which will include a garage. A motion by Whitmeyer second by Rozanski to recommend the waiver contingent upon the Township Engineer's comments concerning Stormwater Management. Vote all yes.
DOWHOWER PROPERTY - Preliminary Subdivision Plan - Residential Suburban
Roundtop and Steinruck Roads
This property is a total of 61.6 acres which is located in both Conewago and Londonderry
Townships. They are proposing a subdivision of 83 residential single family dwellings
plus 1 lot reserved for a sewage pumping station.
73 of the lots will be in Conewago Township and 10 lots are located in Londonderry
Township. They are proposing public water from Pa American Water Co and public
sewage from DTMA. The price of the proposed houses is $200,000.00 up to
$350,000.00.
The following Waivers were discussed:
1. Section 504.2 - Length of Blocks, Street D only is 510' in length
2. Section 510.1 - Recreation and Open Space (pay fee-in-lieu of land dedication)
3. Section 606 - Curbs along Roundtop Road only
4. Section 607 - Sidewalks along Roundtop Road only
5. Section 613 - Existing Road Improvements along Roundtop Rd. (willing to pay cost of road improvements)
6. Section 605.1 .b - Storm Sewers SLPP/HDPE is proposed instead of CGMP.
(plastic rather than metal)
WAIVERS: A motion by Whitmeyer second by Hoerner to recommend the waiver requests # 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 in letter dated July 15, 2002, page 3 from Herbert, Rowland and Grubic, Inc. Motion carried.
WAIVER #5, Section 613, Existing Road Improvements. A motion by Whitmeyer second by Hoerner NOT to recommend waiving Section 613. (see letter from Herbert, Rowland, and Grubic, Inc. dated July 15, 2002 page 3). Contractor shall be responsible for widening Roundtop Road to 28' where it abuts the development, which will allow for a turning lane into the development. Motion carried.
PRELIMINARY SUBDIVISION PLAN - A motion by Whitmeyer second by Rozanski to recommend approval of the plan contingent upon DTMA requirements in letter dated July 25, 2002, contingent upon the Township Engineers comments dated July 23 & 24, 2002 and contingent upon Dauphin County's comments dated June 17, 2002 as well as Section 613, widening Roundtop Road 28' which abuts the development. Also that Londonderry Township Board of Supervisors approve the plan. Motion carried.
The next meeting will be August 26, 2002.
