The Conewago Township Board of Supervisors held their regular monthly meeting, Wednesday, March 13, 2002. Those present were:

The meeting was called to order by Chairman, John Graybill at 7:30 P.M.
MINUTES - FEBRUARY 13, 2002 - A motion by Graybill second by Rochat to approve the Februaty 13, 2002 minutes as submitted. Motion carried.
TREASURER'S REPORT - FEBRUARY 28, 2002 - A motion by Rochat second by Graybill to approve the Treasurer's Report dated Februaty 28, 2002 subject to audit. Motion carried.
EXPENDITURE REPORT -MARCH 13, 2002 - A motion by Rochat second by Graybill to approve the expenditure report dated March 13, 2002 in the amount of $38,470.22. Motion carried.
SUBDIVISION/ENGINEERING FEES & PLAN STATUS REPORTS - Reviewed -Everything up to date.
PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES - FEBRUARY 25, 2002 - (Review Only)
PUBLIC COMMENTS:
Cub Scout Pack 65 were in attendance to earn a communication merit badge.
Jerry Hammer, (Deodate) was in attendance and complained about his neighbors barking dogs. The Zoning Officer will check into this.
ACT 537 - STATUS REPORT - Nothing new at this time.
ACT 537 - PENNVEST - Nothing new at this time.
LOWER DAUPHIN AREA REGIONAL PLANNING GROUP - The group took a bus tour of the Lower Dauphin Area. Urban Research and Renewal from Bethlehem was hired to do a comprehensive plan of Hummelstown Boro, East Hanover Township, Conewago Township, and Londonderry Township.
AVERY KANODE - Nothing since last month.
NEWSLETTER - The Township Engineer presented the Board with the survey results. If the Board is satisfied with the results, this will be printed in the newsletter. Dauphin County recycling program will also be in the newsletter.
DAUPHIN COUNTY RECYCLING - Dauphin County is starting a drop off recycling collection program and have chosen Conewago Township Municipal Building as a drop-off site. A motion by Rochat second by Graybill to sign a lease agreement for the collection of recyclables. Motion carried.
CONEWAGO WATERSHED MEETING - Mr. Book could not be here tonight due to the Conewago Watershed meeting. They were planning to set up their Board. Nothing new.
OLDS MANAGEMENT PROGRAM - 2001 YEAR END REPORT - A list of names has been pulled from the computer who have not had their sewage system inspected. This list will be mailed to the pumpers/inspectors for their review. After their review they are ask to return copies of the inspection report to the Township by March 25, 2002.
GIPE FARM, JOHN LONGENECKER PROPERTY - Deodate Road - Sketch Plan
Gerrit Betz and Keith Murphy were in attendance and inquired about the possibility of installing a sewage treatment plant on this property. They are planning to develop this property into approximately 80 single families homes. A motion by Rochat second by Graybill to draft a letter stating that the Board would prefer NOT to have a package treatment plant on the Gipe Farm Subdivision. Motion carded with an all Yes vote.
DAVID AND DOLLY HASS - 1265 Mapledale Road - Land Development Plan Waiver.
Mr. and Mrs. Hass are intending to erect a 5,720 sq.ft building for the purpose of breeding horses. A motion by Rochat second by Graybill to grant the Land Development Plan Waiver subject to review by the Township Engineer concerning the Stormwater and Zoning approval. Motion carried.
PENN HERSHEY SPORTS TRAINING CENTER - Land Development Plan - Hershey Road. They did not attend tonight's meeting. Will be on next month meeting.
OFFICE PERSONNEL - A motion by Rochat that we lift Shirley Bretz' probationary period and make her a full time permanent employee (approximately 30 hours per week) and increase her salary to $13.00 per hour and appoint her as the Township Secretary effecive immediately. Motion canied by all yes vote.
ELVIS REDCAY PROPERTY - 1982 Hershey Road - The township received complaints about this property. The Solicitor was in contact with the attorney of the estate and noted that they are trying to sell the property.
HERSHEY FREE CHURCH - The Hershey Free Church requested a meeting between themselves and the Board concerning Sewage issues on the Graybill properly. A list of dates have been submitted. When a date is agreed upon this meeting will be advertised as a workshop. It was suggested to invite DTMA to this meeting.
TRUCK BID - Jay Brandt request approval to go ahead and order a new truck. Motion by Rochat second by Graybill to have Jay Brandt order a new truck thru Harrisburg City contract with a price not to exceed $35,000.00. Motion carried.
A motion by Graybill second by Rochat to adjourn at 8:55 P.M. Motion carried.
