Commonly Asked Questions from June 26, 2003 PAWC Survey Letter

  1. Are homeowners required to connect to the water system? No. PAW cannot require you to connect to the water system. However, extending water service is contingent upon the number of homeowners who connect to the new water system.
  2. Homeowner's responsibility includes installing a meter pit at the curb, the service line to the home and disconnecting your well system from the public water system. Wells can remain active for outdoor use but must be physically separated from the public water system.
  3. PAW is responsible for installing the main pipeline in the roadway and the service line from the mainline to the property line or curb line.
  4. There are no connection or tap fees. There is one time $30 service activation fee included in your first water bill.
  5. Actual water usage billing on a monthly basis. [Current rate is $11.50 per month plus $5.735 per 1000 gallons.]
